Artist Residence

Jun Inoue loves nature and spends his days exploring it to get inspiration for his artwork. With this site comes two different sides of nature: the man-made side (the botanical garden) and the natural environment that surrounds it. This design divided the site between these two sides, creating an axis down the middle. The idea was aimed towards being one with both sides of nature, putting the public spaces in the man-made side and the private spaces in the natural side. The goal was to “worship nature” and give several indoor/outdoor experiences throughout the spaces; making the artist feel as if they are living with nature while maintaining the modern feel that is represented in his artwork.
