Touch of Nature
There were two trail stops assigned to this group of students. The first stop was was a quick resting point where information is displayed - this only required one small bench and two stands for signage. The second stop was designated for longer rests as well as bird watching. For this stop, a deck was constructed with a long bench for resting as well as a tall railing. The bench was given a slanted back to make it easier to bird watch; it was also positioned so that users will have a nice view of the lake in the distance. The railing was designed to be tall for easy arm resting while using binoculars or overlooking the hill. This project started in the preliminary design phase, making sketch ideas that were sent to the client for approval. After approval, construction drawings were produced and they were built on site.
