It is important that the design for the new NEXT Medical Clinic encourages users (patients and providers) to connect and support wellness as a community, instead of as individuals. The design developed from circulation studies of the main egress points which generated a blocking of zones. The zones were then defined using horizontal planes to designate service areas and create natural way finding elements. Partitions are only used where visual and/or acoustic privacy is necessary. so the space is more open to interaction. The goal is that the interior design would foster a greater sense of belonging, leading to a more improved outlook of work and health for patients and providers.
